There have been reports of explosions in the capital of Ukraine, and emergency services have been mobilized.

Three explosions were heard in the center of Kyiv as the Ukrainian government said that it had shot down a number of drones made by the Iranian company Shahed.

There have been reports of explosions in the capital of Ukraine, and emergency services have been mobilized.

The mayor, Vitali Klitschko, stated that ten Shahed drones had been brought down by Ukraine's air defenses, and that emergency services had been sent to the Shevchenkivskyi neighborhood in the center part of the city.

He continued by saying, "Details later," which was posted on his Telegram channel. Independent confirmation of Klitschko's assertion was not available in this instance.

A politician in Ukraine named Oleksiy Goncharenko stated on Twitter that he had heard three explosions around 6:30 local time (04:30 GMT).

At 5.55 a.m. (03:55 GMT), the air-raid siren went off, and inhabitants were instructed to remain in bomb shelters until they received the all clear.

According to what Goncharenko wrote, "Ukrainians wake up not from alarm clocks but rather from explosions." "Many thanks go to our close neighbor Russia! "Good morning to you!"

Oleksiy Kuleba, the governor of Kyiv Oblast, stated that air defense systems had been activated and were "striking targets."

The explosions occurred at the same time that Ukraine requested its allies to supply it with more advanced air defense systems to assist it in shooting down Russian missiles and drones that have destroyed the energy infrastructure of the country and left millions of people without heating during the bitterly cold winter.

According to Zelenskyy, other parts of Ukraine suffering "extremely severe" conditions with power supplies include the capital city of Kiev and the region of Kiev, in addition to four regions in western Ukraine and the Dnipropetrovsk region in the middle of the country.

On Tuesday, it was reported that the United States was putting the finishing touches on plans to ship the highly advanced Patriot air defense system to Ukraine.

Google Gets In On Ethereum Merge Excitement With Nifty Easter Egg!

The new feature has been added with just days left until the long-awaited Ethereum Merge. As a sign of support for the upcoming Ethereum Merge, tech juggernaut Google is marking the time left until the upgrade with a new countdown timer. Typing any variation of “Ethereum Merge” or “The Merge” into the search engine shows a countdown ticker, with the estimated time left until the Merge based on the current difficulty, hash rate and merge difficulty. Off to the side is a cartoon of two happy pandas running toward each other with outstretched hands, which supposedly will get closer as the Merge date draws nearer.  Google Cloud developer Sam Padilla in a Friday tweet said that the timer was “a fun little surprise” and a way to show their appreciation of “the work that has been going into this for years.” He said the work was done by Google’s search and labs team, but noted that he helped “kickstart” the idea and discussion that led to the timer being implemented. In the same po...

The digital yuan wallet app includes a virtual version of a traditional Chinese money-gifting method. The e-CNY app allows a red packet to be sent to one person or a "lucky draw" can be set up for a group of people to get a random amount from a pool of funds. WeChat Pay and Alipay have a similar feature. Users can choose a packet cover with new year, birthday, and "prosperous China" wishes. The country's telco regulator has warned Nepalese internet and email providers to block crypto-related websites or face legal action.

The country's telecommunications regulator has ordered all internet service providers (ISPs) to block all cryptocurrency trading websites, threatening legal action against those who do not comply. The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) ordered ISPs and email service providers to block access to "crypto-related websites, apps, or online networks" in a notice issued on January 8. It stated that virtual currency transactions "have increased in recent days [translated]" and reiterated that cryptocurrency transactions are illegal in the country. The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the country's central bank, declared crypto trading and mining illegal in a notice issued in September 2021. It is also illegal to "encourage" others to use cryptocurrency. The NTA issued a similar caution notice regarding cryptocurrency websites in April 2022, asking the public to notify the regulator if they have information "related to the name of such website, app, or o...
